This is a wonderful story about giving and the history of Amigos de los Niños! Kathy Reisdorf and Leslie Lee Sanchez were part of the original group of visionary people who founded ADLN 20 years ago, they are still wonderful supporters and sit on the ADLN Vigilance Committee. Last month, Kathy told us that her fourteen year old daughter, Madison was working on a fundraising drive at her school in the USA for a donation to Amigos de los Niños. The second generation of the ADLN family is hard at work… the vision lives on insuring that the children of Los Cabos in need of quality medical care will have somewhere to find it. Madison and her friends just gave us a check for $3,500 Dollars; Leslie Lee Sanchez received the check from Madison and said some encouraging words to the students. This touches the heart of all the people who have been involved with ADLN over the years, long time Amigos supporter and Ex President of the Board, Mike Grimmer said it best…
"What a job the two of you have done!! Thank you so very much. Instilling the joy of giving into the lives of these young ones is something that will benefit the world in ways that we will probably never know. You two are a great example of how seeds planted, overtime, grow into huge fruit bearing trees, (if watered and cared for properly). You have given these kids some practical perspective on how their futures can turn out. Opened doors of imagination. That they, as individuals, can make a difference. No small feat. Thanks, again. Please express our profound gratitude to your daughter, Madison. Let her know that she, and all those who participated in this fundraiser are to be congratulated. You have all helped to better many lives. It is so cool that Leslie Lee, first Amigos' President, and you, Kathy, Founder of Amigos, will be together again 20 years after the first Amigos' meeting back in '89. Now, promoting, to a new generation, the value of service."
